Overview

OXVA XLIM 4 Pod Kit

The XLIM 4 sits between the draw-only XLIM Go models and the screen-equipped Pro range. There is no display, but you do choose the power: a double-click on the button moves between three levels within a 30W ceiling, which OXVA describes as Low for a smooth, cooler draw, Medium for a balanced one and High for a richer, punchier one. A ring of light around the button shows which level you are on and how much battery is left.

Behind that is a 1600mAh battery that charges over USB-C at 5V/2A, a zinc-alloy body at 78.1g, and a vertical airflow valve on the side. It fires when you draw on it - the button is there for settings, not for firing.

It runs the same cartridge platform as the rest of the range, and OXVA states that every XLIM cartridge fits, in 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.2 ohm. The kit arrives with the newest version, the XLIM Top Fill Cartridge UNITECH 3.0 in 0.8 ohm, and replacements are on our XLIM cartridges page.

If you would rather not think about power at all, the XLIM Go 2 sets it for you. If you want a screen and an exact wattage number, the XLIM Pro 3 is the step up. The full series sits in OXVA XLIM pod kits, and both OXVA platforms are covered in the wider OXVA range.

Compare the range

Compare the screenless OXVA XLIM models

None of these three has a screen, and all three run the same XLIM cartridges, so cartridges carry across whichever you choose. What separates them is control. The Go Lite and Go 2 set the power for you and fire on the draw alone; the XLIM 4 adds a button that lets you choose between three power levels, a bigger battery and a heavier zinc-alloy body.

Add your own e-liquid

E-liquid: what to use & where to buy

Nothing arrives pre-filled, so e-liquid is bought separately and the right one depends on the cartridge fitted.

The 0.8 and 1.2 ohm cartridges are mouth-to-lung resistances and suit nicotine salts or balanced 50/50 e-liquids. The 0.6 and 0.4 ohm are more open and warmer, and take lower-strength salts or freebase.

Thick high-VG shortfills are the one thing to avoid in a coil this small.

Verified resistance-specific guidance, where available, is shown with each pod in the compatibility section above. Ready to stock up?

Is this right for you?

Refillable kit vs. replacement pods

This is the kit - the device with one cartridge fitted. If you already own an XLIM device and the flavour has faded, you need cartridges rather than another device.

E-liquid is separate either way. Nothing arrives pre-filled.

The XLIM 4 takes XLIM cartridges in 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.2 ohm - OXVA states the whole XLIM cartridge range is compatible - and it reaches the 26-30W the 0.4 ohm cartridge is specified for.

XLIM ABT cartridges fit and work normally, but their anti-burn function only activates in an anti-burn device such as the XLIM Pro 4.

NeXLIM cartridges do not fit. NeXLIM is a separate platform with its own cartridge format, despite the similar name. XLIM C is a separate platform too.

Before you order

What is in the kit?

The XLIM 4 device, one XLIM Top Fill Cartridge UNITECH 3.0 in 0.8 ohm (2ml), a USB-C charging cable, the user manual and a use-suggestion card.

E-liquid is not included - this is a refillable kit, so nothing arrives pre-filled.

The basics

How it works

A 1600mAh battery drives up to 30W, and you choose between three power levels with a double-click on the button. The ring light around it does the job a screen would: it shows the power level and the battery, which reads green, then blue, then red as it runs down.

It fires when you draw. Airflow is set with a vertical valve on the side, and the cartridge carries the coil, so the resistance you fit decides the character of the draw.

For safety it cuts out if a single draw runs past 8 seconds, and it stops and flashes red if it overheats. Charging is over USB-C at 5V/2A.

Get started

Setup & how to use

Take the cartridge out, open the top fill port and fill slowly, leaving a small air gap. Close the port straight away - OXVA's manual flags an open port as a leak risk.

Wait at least 30 seconds after filling a new cartridge before you vape, so the cotton soaks through. Seat the cartridge back in the device.

Press the button twice within two seconds to pick a power level and set the side airflow valve to suit. Press four times within two seconds if you want to change the light effect.

If something is not right

Troubleshooting

A burnt taste on a new cartridge almost always means it was vaped before the cotton was soaked. Give every new cartridge at least 30 seconds after its first fill before vaping.

Blue flashing three times means the draw went past 8 seconds - just release and draw again. Red flashing five times means it is too hot; let it cool. Red flashing ten times means it needs charging.

Red flashing three times is a short-circuit warning. Remove the cartridge, wipe the contacts on the cartridge and inside the device with a dry tissue, and reseat it. If it persists with a fresh cartridge, stop using it.

Gurgling or liquid in the mouthpiece points to overfilling or a fill port not fully closed. Very thick high-VG e-liquid floods these coils for the same reason.

Safety, storage & recycling

Keep the device and its built-in battery away from extreme heat, water and direct sunlight. Charge on a non-flammable surface using a USB-C lead and don't leave it charging unattended. Keep the device, pods and e-liquid out of reach of children and pets, and wash your hands after handling e-liquid.

At end of life, don't put the device in general waste — recycle it at a battery or small-electricals recycling point, or via a vape take-back scheme where available. Empty pods can be recycled with small electricals where accepted.

Helpful answers

Frequently asked questions

How do I change the power level?

Press the button twice within two seconds. Each double-click moves to the next of the three levels - Low, Medium, High - and the ring light shows which one you are on.

OXVA does not publish the exact wattage behind each level, only the 30W maximum. As a guide, match the level to the cartridge: OXVA's published bands are 26-30W for 0.4 ohm, 20-25W for 0.6 ohm, 12-16W for 0.8 ohm and 10-12W for 1.2 ohm.

Which cartridges fit the XLIM 4?

XLIM cartridges in 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.2 ohm - OXVA states the whole XLIM cartridge range is compatible. The kit comes with the XLIM Top Fill Cartridge UNITECH 3.0 in 0.8 ohm.

NeXLIM cartridges are a separate platform and do not fit, and neither do XLIM C cartridges.

Does it work with XLIM ABT cartridges?

Yes, they fit and work normally, but the anti-burn function stays inactive. OXVA states that anti-burn protection needs both an anti-burn device and an ABT cartridge, and the XLIM 4 is not an anti-burn device - the XLIM Pro 4 is.

What do the light colours mean?

Battery level shows green from 100% to 65%, blue from 65% to 30% and red below 30%.

Warnings, from OXVA's manual: blue flashing three times means a draw ran past 8 seconds and the device cut out; red flashing five times means it is too hot; red flashing ten times means the battery is low; red flashing three times means a short circuit, usually a cartridge or contact problem.

Can I change the lighting?

Yes. Press the button four times within two seconds to cycle through the light effects that show while you draw.

Does it come with a charging cable?

Yes, a USB-C cable is in the box. The XLIM 4 charges at 5V/2A, and OXVA advises not leaving it unattended while charging.

How is it different from the XLIM Go 2?

The Go 2 chooses the power for you and has no button. The XLIM 4 lets you pick from three power levels with a button, has a slightly larger 1600mAh battery against 1500mAh, and uses a heavier zinc-alloy body - 78.1g against 45.9g.

Both take the same XLIM cartridges, so moving between them does not strand the cartridges you already own.

What e-liquid suits it?

Nicotine salts or balanced 50/50 e-liquid, bought separately. The 0.8 ohm cartridge in the box is a mouth-to-lung resistance and pairs well with salts; the 0.4 and 0.6 ohm cartridges are more open and suit lower-strength salts or freebase.

Avoid thick high-VG shortfills - a coil this small cannot wick them quickly enough.

How we verified this product

The specifications on this page - the 1600mAh battery, maximum 30W output across three levels, 3.2-4.2V output voltage, 5V/2A USB-C charging, the 121 x 26.2 x 15.2mm zinc-alloy body at 78.1g, the 2ml UK cartridge and the box contents - are taken from OXVA's XLIM 4 specification sheet, package list and user manual, read on 23 October 2026 and cross-checked against a UK retailer listing the same day.

The light codes, the double-click and four-press controls and the 8-second draw cut-off are copied from the user manual rather than paraphrased from marketing material.

Three figures are deliberately absent. OXVA does not publish the wattage behind each of the Low, Medium and High levels, so we do not guess at it. There is no published charge time and no coil-life or refill-count figure for the cartridges, and we would rather leave those blank than invent them.

Capacity is the UK 2ml specification throughout. A 3ml version of this kit is sold in other markets and is not what is sold on this page.
